I remember all these games and they all ut a smie on my face! One clapping song we used to do was I went to the chinese restaurant to buy a loaf of bread bread bread he wraped it up in a five pound note and this is what he said said said... My name is elvis presly girls are sexy...
blah blah bah, im sure if you did it, you dont need me to write it! we had some complicated handshake thingy as well that we use to sing the club biscuit song to "if you like a lotta chocolate on your biscuit join our club!"
Anyway, my reason for posting is, did anyone else used to play "polo" or "hot chocolate"? I think polo was played between 2 walls, a team on one side and one other person on the other, the single person would choose a subject and the team had to name themselves. When the person shouted your word you had to run between the walls and spell polo. Maybe it was just me..... sorry 4 the long post!

Wow huge flashback - POLO! OMG what a ridiculous game but spent most of primary school playing it along with May I? and Red Rover (a less violent version of British Bulldog) also used to have a slightly different song from the bread wrapped in a five pound note. Our went Mickey Mouse is dead He died last night in bed He slit his throat With a five pound note And this is what he said My name is elvis presley The girls are sexy......etc My 9 year old still plays it now

Sad I know but it provided many hours of amusement back then.

All this has brought back loads of memories!!
I remember we used to all be obsessed with Power Balls! Remember them?
for us that bramble bush song went
Down by the bramble bushes Down by the sea Johnny broke a bottle and he blamed it on me he told my ma ma he told my da da Johnny broke a bottle and he blamed it on me!!
We used to sing it over and over while going round on one of those big roundabouts that you can go inside, for the whole of playtime!!!
i remember wiggly gigglys too - was never sure what they were meant to do though!!

OMG - I had forgotten Polo!!! I loved that!
We also played Buzz - anyone else play that. Maybe not because we had a set of ten pole's holding up a shelter and played it using that. Basically there was 11 people and one person was "it".....the other ten went on a poll and you had to run between polls and swap with people and when you reached the poll, you "buzzed" which meant that person had to leave that one and "buzz" onto someone elses......the person that was "it" ran after people (like normal tag) and when you were caught, you were "it"......
Anyone still following that......?
