My goodness, what a lot of memories the last 2 pages of posts has set off! We used to have great fun with truth or dare, kiss chasey, tig, poison ball, hula hoops (never managed that on my waist but had great fun on my arms and around my neck), yoyo's, etc. I had fun over the weekend babysitting my nephews and teaching them poison ball and ringa ringa rosy. It was funny, my brother found his (very) old hypercolour t-shirt the other day. It no longer changes colour, but I remember wearing them when they were "in" in the 80's. They always used to change under the arms, etc. Embarising ;D .

Hey!..Speaking of fashion, does anyone remember "Shell suits" they were really colourful (to say the least) sort of jogging suits and you just had to own one and what about Jellybean shoes!! (stones always used to get stuck under them!)

Jelly bean shoes! I had a pair and a jelly bean basket to match. Funny thing was, you had to put a bag inside your basket if it rained! And who remembers" legwarmers"? Fame eat your heart out! I also owned a pair of Pixie boots, which for all you youngsters were ankle boots that had a small leather turndown on them! Mines were burgandy. And not to mention the illuminous sox and fingerless gloves. God I must have been a right fashion victim in the 80's. haha. What memories! ;D

I loved legwarmers!!! They were the cool of cool back then. I also had fingerless gloves, pouffy bell skirt thingys and a BIG perm in the late 80's. Them were the days. I cringe when I see photos . I wonder if my mum kept any of my old clothes - I'll have to check next time I go to visit them.

Oh my! I remember Pixie boots! My sister had a pair and I longed to own a pair but wasn´t allowed (second child syndrome! ;D) I did have some leg warmers though! Infact here in Sweden they are making quite a fashion comeback! I didn´t have a puff ball skirt but I had some cool Ra-Ra skirts (remember those?) Fingerless gloves..very useful when it was cold (not!) My big sis (a pure rebel and fashion victim) had some of those, again I wasn´t allowed to..(sigh! ) Maybe my Mum was worried I´d get rebellious if I owned a pair too? I never wanted to have a "big perm" but I did have a babybliss crimper thingie..you know when it was fashionable to look as much like a poodle as possible?! If you put it too near your head you burnt your scalp. ..ouch!

Oh my, ra-ra skirts, I had forgotton about them. Wern't they the days.....women had big hair and shoulder pads and men had salmon coloured shirts and lemon coloured pants ;D. I actually didn't want the perm myself, my mum talked me into it. My gosh, was that a frizz fest, and worst of all my hair held them REALLY well . They never fell out, I had to wait and cut them out. I don't remember pixie boots though....maybe they had a different name here in Oz. What did they look like?

Hi Beck! Pixie boots were a sort of "ankle boot" pointed at the toes with a small heel (size of heel varied mind) and they sort of folded down at the tops, like..well...the shoes Peter Pan wears (hence the name I guess!) ;D you could get them in all different colours. Hope this helps a little..I´m sure you must have had them in Australia aswell In some silly way I wish you could go back in time and see yourself in these ridiculous fashions...yet at the time you thought you were so trendy! ...glad you managed to get your perm out eventually, I remember my sister had a perm and came out of the Hairdressers looking as though she was sporting an "Afro"..it was sooooooooo funny ;D it took ages for her to grow out her perm too, suppose that´s why I stayed with the safe old crimper set.

Legwarmers have made a comeback here in Scotland too. My neice (13yrs) just loves them. She wears them when training at her baton twirling. She wears 2 different colours most of the time. Poor child. ;D

Just found loads of Polly Pockets in my attic from when my children were little. They had loads of fun with them and never lost any of the figures (even though they were so tiny). My first grandchild is due in November (I'm not that old!) so if its a girl - hours of fun again. Don't buy many toys now the children have grown up. Do they still sell Polly Pockets?. The light up Castle was my favourite. I remember the big yellow tea pot and the big red fun bus. I lived near the factory in Wales that made these.

Yes they still sell Polly Pockets. I used to buy them for my neice, now I''ll have to continue to buy them for wee Mary when she is old enough! I can't wait. Argos and Index seem to be the best places to buy them! ;D
